Post it in the Sandbox for further critique, and make sure that you work on all of the areas that I mentioned. It should be good enough to resubmit if you do so.

I actually think the wallpaper is really creative despite the simplicity. If the text didn't have JPEG artifacts all around it then it's certainly good enough to have in the gallery.

Ghosting is a method we really really don't like here on MT, it's a cheap way of taking up background space and just looks awful 99% of the time.
The scan is poorly extracted, I circled some spots where it's most noticeable at.
The entire background is also random brushes, which is another thing that we don't like seeing in wallpapers. It's much more preferable to see an idea or concept behind the wallpaper. I don't see that here. I also circled some spots where the brushes just cut off randomly.Feel free to post the wallpaper in the Sandbox for further critiques if you want to repost it.

Yeah, that image is freaking huge. I thought we had something that automatically resized images that were too large o_o since we don't, Sheq definitely needs to look into this. Nice picture though, what's that around your neck?

Yeah, outer glow usually just accentuates on the extraction making it look worse than it actually is.

Well, over the summer I started listening to a ton of mainstream pop (Lady Gaga, Madonna), and now I've made a return to rock (The White Stripes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, etc). I dunno, I would just link to my last.fm account but it's embarrassing to no end so, I'm not going to do that. :P I've strayed away from Japanese music almost entirely except for a few artists, like MEG, Perfume, Shiina Ringo, Tokyo Jihen, and sometimes YUKI.
Recently I've also been listening to Fiona Apple, Rufus Wainwright, Florence + The Machine, others.. so my music taste is pretty much all over the map.

Well, we will certainly delete those if we come across them / if you report them.

You can use the report option. All we're asking for here is some effort. You can crop a scan and it can look good, but that doesn't mean you did anything to get it there.

Okay, well since you haven't submitted this yet, I'm guessing you're still open to critiques! However, I don't know which version to comment on because there are like, nine of them. I would just pick which one you put the most effort into / the one you like the most and submit it.

Wallpapers don't have to be masterpieces in order to get accepted, but there must be requirements so the gallery isn't full of.. well, crap. If you want, you can send a wallpaper to me or any of the other moderators or elite members and I'm sure someone would be willing to help out and give you pointers on how to fix it before submitting next time.

Your wallpaper is a simple vector slapped on to an unedited scan. This is reason enough for deletion. Have a nice day!

Initially I deleted the wallpaper for being low quality (there being many obvious areas that need work, which I have circled here) But now I've read the description and you mention having taken elements from several other wallpapers and placed them in your own. The fact that you're honest about it is fine, but we don't support stealing other peoples' work on Minitokyo. If you can give me some sort of proof that you asked them beforehand to use those, then that's fine, but you'll still need to fix the areas mentioned above. Adding more original elements would also make this a much better wallpaper - it seems like you simply took several parts from scans, wallpapers, and pictures, and just slapped them all together, without thinking of the final product first.
